AMD Phenom X4 9850BE

The modified clip design is a snap to use with the stock AMD retention module. If your motherboard does not offer a 4-pin PWM header it can still be plugged into a standard 3-pin, however smart fan control will not be available.
The center post design of the clip and base allows the 9300 to be rotated more than 45° in either direction, which can help provide clearance around the CPU socket if needed. Note that I have my memory modules installed into the second two DIMM slots from my previous cooler install, not due to any interference with the 9300. Being able to rotate the cooler also allows the airflow of the fan to be aimed in a particular direction where it may be useful to cool other components or exhaust the heated air from the case.
Let's wrap up with some testing and final thoughts.
