Introduction

YouTube is the second most popular website on the internet, behind Yahoo (according to Alexa.com). YouTube is based on user-created content, meaning people like you and I are responsible for its content and, ultimately, its success. Some of the best content on YouTube happens by chance in the lives of normal, everyday people. How many times has something outrageous or shocking happened in your life and you wished you had some way to record it to share with others?

Sanyo has signed up for this job with their Xacti series of digital movie cameras. This product line is designed to be extremely slim and portable - something you can easily carry with you in your pocket and use at any time. Normally when you think of something being "slim", you also get the idea that it is slim on features and quality. Geeks.com, who specializes in cheap digital cameras, sent over the Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG6, a midrange digital movie camera in Sanyo's arsenal that comes packed with a lot of features in a really small footprint.

The CG6 arrived in the small retail box that you see above, which is typical "camera" packaging from many manufacturers. The top and side of the box display the product model along with a small photo of the camcorder. On the back of the package is a breakdown of the camera's features and specifications, which can be found in detail below.
