Outer Impressions

For review, I received an OEM (original equipment from the manufacturer) version of the drive, which means all that is included is the drive itself. The top of the drive has the standard information sticker, while on the bottom of the drive is the controller board for the drive. One thing I was surprised by was the fact that the drive has no option for Molex power. In my experience, SATA Caviar drives have had the option for Molex power just in case the user's power supply does not have SATA cables. Other than that, nothing seems at all out of the ordinary. Data transfer and thermal performance testing just ahead.
