The X3 was packaged very well to ensure nothing bad would happen to the unit during shipping/handling. Two foam inserts hold the X3 in place, with a plastic protective bag encompassing the unit to help preserve the unit's pristine finish. A box containing the modular cables sits atop the foam inserts. But first, let's have a look at the X3 unit itself.



As you can see, the X3 has a fantastic mirror-like finish. I love power supplies with paint jobs such as this; it really adds to the overall value. The left side of the unit has the typical specs/power breakdown sticker as well as a few other quality control stickers. Unlike some other "modular" power supplies, this unit is 100% modular - every cable can be removed. The modular plate is brushed aluminum and is held in place with six screws. Cable connectors include a 24-Pin Motherboard connector, six 4-Pin Molex connectors, four 6-Pin PCI-E connectors, a 12v 4-Pin Motherboard connector, a 12v 8-Pin Motherboard connector and two SATA Power connectors. Also notice, all of the connectors are gold-plated.
