Install, Usage and Conclusion

Inside the retail package, we find the screen protector... and that's it. There is no instruction (not that you really need one) or anything else.

The screen protector is precut to fit the iPhone and has cutouts for the ear speaker and Home button. There is a clear plastic sheet over the cling side of the protector, which is removed just before installation.

Before installing the screen protector, be sure to clean the screen of your iPhone to remove any dirt and smudge marks. With a clean screen, peel back the protective covering, center it over the iPhone and apply. The best method I found was to start at the bottom and slowly work your way up. I am a stickler for perfection and centering (people that put bumper stickers on crooked drives me bananas!), so I ended up reapplying the protector probably 10 times or more, as I wasn't happy with how it was centered.

Through trial and error, I eventually got it installed to my liking. I recommend trying to seat it properly as fast as possible, as the longer it takes, the higher chance you have of picking up stray dirt and particles from the air.

Usage and Conclusion

I have been using the screen protector on my iPhone for nearly two weeks now and have no plans of removing it. The screen protector fits the iPhone almost perfectly. There is a tiny hairline gap on each side that is not covered, but certainly nothing to be concerned with. With the screen protector in place, you can't even tell it's there. It does not hinder usage of the touch screen in any way, nor does it distort the screen when viewing. The screen protector does not use any glue or adhesives, so it won't leave a sticky residue on your iPhone. You can easily remove the screen protector (not sure why you would want to) by using a piece of tape to lift one of the corners up. The screen protector can be used by itself, or in conjunction with most any iPhone case to offer an added level of protection.

Installing the screen protector can be nerve-racking, especially if you are a stickler for perfection like I am. It took me probably 15 minutes to get the installation that I wanted. The best method is to start at one end and slowly work your way to the other, ensuring that there will be no air bubbles caught under the screen protector.

The iPhone Ultra Clear Screen Protector sells for $9.99 USD. At this price, and the amount of protection it offers the screen on your iPhone, I would consider this a must-have for anyone with an iPhone that doesn't use a case that offers some type of screen protection.
