The first thing you will need to do is format the hard drive. Simply connect the TVisto to your computer using the USB cable and format the drive using Disk Manager as you would any other drive. Once the drive is formatted, you need to create four folders in the main directory: Pictures, Music, Movies and Firmware. Once this is complete, you will then want to update the firmware on the TVisto. To do this, first download the firmware update from Galaxy's website. Then unzip the file and add the contents to the Firmware folder you created on the drive. Now, connect the TVisto to your television.



The first screen is what you see when you turn the TVisto on. From here, navigate to "Settings" then "Firmware Update". To complete the update, just press Enter on the remote. As you can see here, I have already updated the TVisto with the latest firmware, dated November 28, 2006.

It is a bit of a hassle having to set all of this up on your own, but that is the price you must pay for using your own hard drive. The process is not difficult at all and only takes about 10 minutes to complete. With everything "installed", it's time to load the drive with pictures, movies and music then get to testing!
