The Xaser VI box is huge and extremely heavy. I bet it's close to fifty pounds. It also looks like it took a bit of a beating during shipping. The Xaser VI is available in black with red accent or silver with black accent, and with or without a side panel window. There is also a version with a liquid cooling system built in. The version received for review is the VG4000BWS, black/red color with side window as indicated on the box. Thermaltake must make a completely different box for the silver Xaser, since only the black/red picture and part number are shown.
Upon opening the box the Xaser VI seems at first to be packaged no differently than most other cases, however after getting the contents out of the box, which was no small task, we see that Thermaltake has taken some extra precautions. First they've used a soft cell foam for the surrounds rather than a hard Styrofoam, with additional cardboard pieces in the corners and along the edges. There are also foam/cardboard side panels, although there is nothing extra covering the top and bottom.
Let's get the Xaser VI unwrapped and have a look at this behemoth.
