Thermaltake doesn't make power supplies, they sell them. But this is not necessarily a bad thing, after all Thermaltake has a reputation and its good name to consider. In actuality, many companies sell power supplies that are branded for them by an OEM manufacturer, made to specs that the seller specifies. I've owned a few Thermaltake power supplies over the years and never had a problem with any of them. They've been made by either Sirtec or Channelwell, both names you might recognize as high-quality OEM manufacturers.

Today I'm having a look at one of Thermaltake's newest lineup of power supplies, the Toughpower QFan 650w. If you haven't guessed, the Q in QFan stands for Quiet, as Thermaltake advertises an ultra-low 17dBA noise rating at up to 50% load. There are two models available, the 650w and a 500w version. The primary difference between the two is in the number of +12v rails each has; the 500w having three and the 650w has four. Both carry the latest ATX v2.2 and EPS v2.91 standards.
