The Muse R-Duo RAID bundle consists of the drive enclosure, hard drive mounting rails, USB and eSATA cables, power supply and cord, and quick setup guide with CD. The eSATA cable is a type-I male to type-I male, and requires an external port to plug into in order to connect to your computer. Some newer computer cases have eSATA ports built in and some motherboards even have ports onboard, however many users will need to add an adapter as one is not included. Fortunately these are readily available to fit in an empty riser slot and connect to any internal SATA port on your motherboard.
The Muse R-Duo has a bare aluminum finish on one side and anodized black on the other with contrasting lettering, giving a yin-yang effect. Plastic feet on the bottom of the unit rotate out to provide side-to-side stability when set on end. It would not be practical to lay the Muse R-Duo flat on its side as there are no rubber cushions to protect the finish. The front of the unit is fairly plain, with slotted vents around the edge and four LEDs to indicate power and activity for each drive. The rear of the device houses the power connection, on/off switch, USB and eSATA ports, and a pair of dip switches and reset button for setting the RAID configuration.
