You might think of Thermaltake as primarily a cooling product company, as their name would imply, who happens to have also branched into manufacturing computer chassis and power supplies. And while this is all true there are a number of other devices Thermaltake offers that you might not be aware of. For example, last month we reviewed a unique data retrieval product from them, the BlacX hard drive dock, which allows users to easily hot-swap SATA drives from a convenient desktop base unit. Today I have another of Thermaltake's newer storage solutions for review, the Muse R-Duo RAID.


Like many of their enclosures, the Muse R-Duo has an attractive aluminum finish and supports standard 3½" SATA hard drives of most capacities. It offers USB 2.0 or eSATA connectivity and has a built-in cooling fan to help keep drive temperatures from getting too hot, a common problem in many external drive enclosures. The Muse R-Duo arrives in a colorful retail box with a convenient carry handle, and contents are neatly packed inside cardboard compartments to prevent damage during shipping.
