I began by installing CyberLink's PowerDVD 9 onto the netbook. After installation, I was prompted to install a software update. Once this was complete, I was ready to watch a movie... or so I thought. After getting an error message, I was prompted to download CyberLink's BD Advisor program. As it turns out, the netbook didn't meet the minimum hardware requirements for Blu-ray Disc playback.

No big deal, as I am sure it takes a decent amount of processing power / GPU power to handle Blu-ray.
I then proceeded to install the software on my HP TX1119US notebook which is about two years old now and again, no go.
Finally I installed the software on an Acer Timeline which met the minimum requirements of the software. Now we are in business. You can check CyberLink's minimum requirements for Blu-ray playback here.
Continue ahead for testing.
