The SilverStone Strider Gold 650W is not a new model; both it and the 550W version have been out about a year now. But they are notable because they expand the 80Plus Gold standard to a smaller size rating that had previously been reserved for primarily the 750W and up category. They also manage to pack a continuous 550W/650W into a very short 140mm install depth. Additional specifications on the 650W are copied from SilverStone's website below:

Although SilverStone does not overtly state "Haswell Ready" like some manufacturers, from what I can determine all of their current Gold series models as well as Plus and Essentials power supplies are on their supported list. The main point of contention over "compatibility" is related to Haswell's low power sleep state, and its behavior when resuming, which is also going to depend on the motherboard used in the system. Apparently this sleep state is not typically set as default in the BIOS anyway and the setting can be changed by the user if needed to avoid any problems, the most detrimental of which seems to be that the power supply would simply shut off.

The ST65F-G ships with installation and user manual, thumb and Phillips head mounting screws, plastic zip and Velcro ties, standard C14 power cord and modular cable set. The types and lengths of cables can be found in the list of specifications above. Notable for a 650W power supply, there are two PCI-E cables included, with one 6-pin and one 6+2-pin connector on each cable. SilverStone lists the ST65F-G as SLI/Crossfire capable up to dual GTX 770 or HD7970 graphics cards.

Let's take a closer look at the SilverStone Strider Gold 650W.
