The Strider Gold 750W has a black finish that is heavily textured and also features black screws and wire fan guard with the SilverStone logo in the center. It is 20mm (~.8") longer than the previous generation Strider Plus 750W, measuring 150mm wide by 180mm long and 86mm tall. It also weighs in at .275kg (~.5lb) heavier than the Plus, at 3.075kg (~6.8lb) sans cables. The Gold is rated for up to 22A +3.3V, 25A +5V and 62A +12V, for a total of 750W combined continuous load, or 850W peak for up to 12 minutes. Although there is no UL identification number printed on this unit, sources indicate that the OEM is Enhance, the same manufacturer that produces the Plus series.
We can further confirm the OEM as Enhance by examining the color of the wires used on the power receptacle. Enhance seems to be the only one to use this particular black, white and green/yellow color scheme. The fan is a 135mm Young Lin Tech model DFB132512H rated for 91CFM at 36dBA when run at 1700RPM on full +12V. Although it is only a two wire fan, SilverStone implements built-in voltage control to cut that nearly in half, resulting in a very quiet 19dBA at up to 50% load, ramping up in speed above that.
Next let's get the Strider Gold 750W installed and perform some testing.
