The RAVEN 3 came to us shipped in a large brown box with single color printing. The case is well protected by thick top and bottom Styrofoam caps and plastic wrap. The accessory box, typically stuffed inside the case where it sometimes works free during shipping, instead came set in a cutout on the bottom end cap. Additional plastic sheets protect the side window panel inside and out and a strip of tape helps keep the bay covers in place.
There are a few things to point out from the specifications. In addition to being the smallest of the three RAVEN series cases, the RV03 is also the lightest, weighing just over 25lbs. At only 20½" tall and 22½" deep, the RV03 looks more like the typical mid-tower size were it not for the more than 9¼" of width. Despite that wide stance however, CPU cooler height is limited to 163mm, and new for the RV03, PSU length is now also limited to 180mm.
The accessory box contains a minimal amount of add-ons. There is a 5V power adapter with three connections, enough for the included 120mm and two 180mm fans. And in addition to the various screws and other mounting hardware, SilverStone throws in some Zip ties. Other than the manual, which is very detailed and includes lots of diagrams and drawings to assist during installation, that's about it.
Let's take a closer look at the case exterior.
