DiRT 2 released late last year following the launch of ATI's 5000-series cards. In fact many cards came with a free download coupon for the game since at the time it was one of only a few upcoming titles that supported DirectX 11. Featuring an updated version of the ECO engine used in Grid, DiRT 2 is available for both console and PC gaming. For nVidia-based cards, an 8800GT or greater is recommended, which the GTS 250 certainly meets. Although the GTS 250 can't take advantage of DirectX 11 features, all other options were set to Ultra level.
At 1280x720 the game play is very smooth and quite playable at all levels of AA.
Frame rates do start to drop at 1920x1080, however nothing to the point where we'd have to consider reducing quality settings.
Let's wrap up with some final thoughts and conclusion.
