Ergonomics is a hot topic in computer accessories. With increasing numbers of users contracting repetitive strain injuries from prolonged hours tied to a keyboard and mouse, preventative devices such as ergonomic peripherals have gained popularity. One of the newer companies in the field is Smartfish Technologies. Smartfish has been around since just 2006, working with Maxell and a few other companies to create computer accessories based on their concept of "ErgoMotion." Ergomotion is the idea that there is no one perfect ergonomic position, but rather that the body needs movement to stay healthy and happy.
Today's review item is the Smartfish ErgoMotion Laser Mouse. This mouse is not only the first ergomotion device from Smartfish, but also the first dynamic posture mouse on the market. Connected to a small pedestal by a ball joint, the mouse allows pitching and rolling to keep your wrist comfortable at any position. Also, with tilt-scrolling and a tiny wireless transceiver, the ErgoMotion Mouse doesn't forfeit any of the typical amenities.
Continue on as we give a small discussion on ergonomics and put the ErgoMotion Mouse to the test.
