As all other DDR3-2000 memory, the OCZ SLI DDR3-2000 2GB kit is very specialized, its full potential can be seen only with one chipset, the nForce 790i Ultra SLI, and maybe a handful of motherboards sporting the Intel X48 chipset. Being EPP 2.0 and SLI equipped, this memory does have a little more to offer than most for other nVidia motherboards.
There are benefits for running this and other DDR3-2000 memory on lesser motherboards. They offer plenty of headroom for overclocking on motherboards that don't allow for separate clocking of FSB and memory, such as my Gigabyte X48T-DQ6 board. There is also plenty of overhead for trying to attain tighter timings at lower speeds.
One thing that sets the OCZ SLI DDR3-2000 kit above the others is that it does its thing at 1.8v, while most other similar kits run at 1.9v or 2.0v. That and the fact that it is just so pretty. It really is.
The OCZ SLI DDR3-2000 2GB kit runs $159.99 at my favorite online retailer. I surfed around some and found it for under $100, one place had a MIR bringing the price under $70! That is a really incredible price for upper-end DDR3 memory, to say the least.
OCIA.net awards the OCZ SLI DDR3-2000 Dual Channel 2GB Kit the OCIA Seal of Approval.
Pros:
Very nice looking
