Installing the FightBoard was very straight-forward. Pop in the driver disc and follow the on-screen prompts. Install the software first before connecting the keyboard, then simply plug it in when asked to do so. Once installed, you will find that the FightBoard software is very simple and is only used to program the 20 macro keys.
Here is where you record each macro. You can name the macro as well as fine-tune the delay time between each button pressed. You can even select to have the macro function repeated while the button is pressed or repeat until you press the button again. I had no problems using the macro function and it worked very well.
Next up we have the FightMouse settings. Again, installation is very simple; just follow the on-screen prompts. Once installed, you can click the configuration icon in the task bar to access the mouse properties screen. Here we see several tabs, but the "FightMouse Buttons Configure" tab and the "FightMouse DPI Configure" tabs are really the only ones unique to the mouse. The others are basic Windows tabs, which are still useful of course.
From this configuration window, we can change the number of lines that are scrolled each time the mouse wheel is moved. I set mine to around 20, as I like to get up and down a page quickly. You can also customize the Wheel Button, Button A and Button B to any of nearly 50 different functions. This is the most pre-programmed functions I have seen on a mouse. Functions like Copy and Paste could work well together. Some of my other favorites include MS Word and Outlook.
Here we have the DPI Configuration window. You can fine-tune settings from 400 DPI all the way up to 2400 DPI. Do note, the sensor on the mouse only goes up to 2000 DPI. Any settings above 2000 DPI are software-controlled and thus, not nearly as accurate as the actual mouse sensor. For that reason, I would not recommend using anything above 2000 DPI. I found 800 DPI to be a good general setting; not too fast but not turtle-slow either.
With everything installed, it's time to move ahead to see how well everything works!
