Conclusions

Much more than just a gadget, the Ultra Power Partner 325 watt PSU is a cool concept and very functional. It isn't for everyone, but for the guy that needs a little extra juice to power that second video card, to stabilize his system, or to support that overclock and just can't quite swing the $175-$200 that a better PSU costs, it may just be the answer.

It is easy to install, it looks nice and will power virtually any component in your system, even high-end video cards with the new 8-pin PCI-E power connectors. It is a high-quality, full featured PSU that fits in an optical bay. It is surprisingly quiet, considering it has a pair of small fans.

Yes, there are some drawbacks, but that is to be expected. Having that many connectors, the wires have to go somewhere. A modular system would have been nice, but no doubt would have added to the overall product cost. Also, being a power supply that blows warm air into your case... well if you already have a cooling problem, this would only make matters worse.

The Ultra Power Partner lists for $89.99, but I found it several places online for between $60 and $70.

Pros:
Unique idea, may be the answer to your power problems
Very functional, does exactly what it is supposed to
At ~$65 dollars, costs about 1/3 of what it would cost to replace your existing PSU

Cons:
Blows warm air into your case by design
Cables will hinder your wire management

The Ultra Power Partner earns the OCIA.net Seal of Approval.
