Installation / Software

I installed the Strato on two different systems, one using Windows XP and the other Windows 7. Installation on both systems was identical. First, plug the USB cable into a spare port, then insert the software disc and let it auto-run. After a series of windows, the drivers are installed and you are prompted to reboot the system. It doesn't get much easier than that.

The Strato control center can be seen above and is a pretty standard affair. In the Main Settings tab, you can select the output speaker type as well as manually adjust the virtual speaker locations. The Mixer tab allows you to adjust audio levels such as master volume and microphone. The equalizer offers several presets as well as allowing you to manually adjust each frequency level to your exact liking. We find a few options under Karaoke / Magic Voice like microphone echo, key shifting and voice cancellation. I'm not much of a singer so I skipped this section. Finally the Information tab displays audio CODEC, audio engine type, audio driver version, audio controller and DirectX version.

Let's move ahead and see how the Strato performs when put to the test.
