The mounting holes along each side are located in the correct positions so that the 3.5" Vertex 2 should fit easily into any desktop environment, even those that utilize tool-less drive rails or caddies like this one from Cooler Master. Additionally the SATA power and data ports are in the standard location, which is especially important if you're using an enclosure that offers hot swap drive bays.
I'm installing the 3.5" Vertex 2 in my main system as the primary operating system drive. This is comprised of the following hardware:
AMD Phenom II 1090T X6 BE
Swiftech H20-320 Edge
2x2Gb Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR3-1600
1Tb WD Caviar Black (data drive)
ASUS EAH5870 V2 1G
LG 8x BD-R 16x DVD+/-RW
OCZ Fatal1ty 750w
Cooler Master HAF 932 AMD Edition
A fresh install of Windows 7 64bit was done and all of the utilities needed for testing were copied locally.
Let's see how the 3.5" Vertex 2 does in some benchmarks.
