A Closer Look

The modules ship with clear protective plastic covering the heat spreaders. They're a deep black finish with the silver and red Fatal1ty logo in the center. The same design, save the specifications sticker, is used on both sides.

Like most of OCZ's recent memory, these are the XTC style, or Xtreme Thermal Convection, which utilize a mesh center for contact with the individual chips. The timings on the PC2-6400 kit are 5-4-4 @ 2.1v according to the sticker on the module, with the tRAS defined as 18 per OCZ's website. This is identical to the specs on OCZ's Platinum and SLI modules of the same density and speed.

The 2 x 2048 modules are double-sided, with eight chips to a side. The heat spreaders are a standard width, so there's no issues with putting them side-by-side in the slots.

Let's get the Fatal1ty kit installed and try some overclocking.
