Conclusion

For my real-world performance tests, I timed how long it took to copy 1.78 GB of pictures both to and from each card. I did this three times and got the average of the times as my result. As with the synthetic tests, I tested the OCZ SD card using both the USB and card reader interface. Results are below.

As we can see here, it is clearly faster to transfer data to the OCZ SD card using a card reader. The card reader managed to shave off nearly 2 1/2 minutes versus the USB route. Let's see how well the cards perform when transferring data to the computer.

This time, the USB interface takes the cake, beating the card reader interface by 12 seconds.

Findings and Conclusion

As mentioned at the get-go of testing and as the results have shown, the OCZ Dual SD card is not the fastest on the market today, but what it lacks in speed it more than makes up for in convenience. This card would make a great addition to any of your digital devices, making it a breeze to upload pictures from your digital camera, load mp3s to your mp3 player or cell phone and even transfer files from one computer to another, all without the need for additional hardware (card reader). Backed by OCZ's lifetime warranty and priced evenly with other SD card offerings ($42.99 at the time of review at a popular online reseller), I highly recommend the OCZ Dual SD Card for any and all of your flash memory needs. If you just have to have something faster than 80x, OCZ also offers standard SD cards in 133x and 150x speeds to satisfy your cravings.

OCIA.net has awarded the OCZ Dual SD Card our seal of approval.
