The Defender series includes the case itself and an adjustable holster. The belt clip on the holster can be rotated to virtually any orientation and can double as a stand when watching videos or surfing the web. OtterBox does suggest that you insert the phone face-down in the holster when carrying it to prevent damage to the screen.
As you can see, the Defender series is a bit thicker than the Commuter case. Another difference is that the silicon jacket is on the outside of this case and covers almost all of the visible surface. There is also a built-in screen protector on the front of the Defender as well as another clear protector on the rear that covers the Apple logo.
The Defender features the same protection for the volume and power buttons but also has an added silicon plug for the ringer switch. The covers for the headphone jack and docking port are a bit beefier as well.
Let's move ahead and check out installation.
