The NH-U12

The NH-U12 comes in a stylish box with a nice picture of the cooler on the front.

Features and specifications are listed on the rear of the box along with images of the cooler and all of the accessories included in the box.

4 Dual-Heat-Pipes
38 aluminum-fins with more than 5000 cm(2) surface area
Soldered joints for optimal heat-transfer
Superior performance both with silent and high-performance 120mm fans
Screwless fan-mount including anti-vibration strips
Universal fit (Socket 478, LGA, K8)
Includes high-grade thermal paste & installation manual

Not listed on the box, but on Nocuta's website, the NH-U12 weighs in at a hefty 700 grams.

Opening up the box we find the NH-U12 with installation manual sitting on top.

Down below the cardboard holding the NH-U12 we find a bag of accessories (detailed on the next page).

Here we have a look at the four dual heat-pipes running through the 38 aluminum fins. As mentined, the NH-U12 is large, measuring 124mm wide, 155mm tall...

and 70mm thick without a fan. It is 95mm thick with one fan, and 120mm thick with two fans installed.

These heat-pipes are soldered to the base with a copper plate, as well as to each fin.

The contact surface of the base isn't the smoothest or shiniest I've come across, but very nice nonetheless.

Continue on to the next page for more on the NH-U12.
