The vertical design with the four copper heatpipes rising from the center is attractive, but I can't help but cringe at the fan colors. The brown and tan could be much more attractive. I am not suggesting shiny LED fans here, but a solid black or clear would bring more attention to the attractive Noctua heatsink. If you were installing the heatsink in a windowless case you wouldn't even worry about that. This is just my personal opinion and everyone's taste is different.
Some of the bottom aluminum fins were bent during transport. This was a minor issue and it was easy to bend them back in place and should have no effect on the performance. Instructions were included for both attachment types. The copper base is nickel plated and has a relative shine, though not perfectly smooth as some insist on. Lastly, Noctua includes a case badge which has to be the most solid case badge I have ever seen.
Let's move ahead and check out installation.
