It has become pretty hard to find a power supply that has a feature new and unique enough to catch my interest. Nesteq's EECS modular cables definitely have accomplished this. Though modular PSUs are cool, I have always felt that something more could be done towards customizing the cables themselves. Nesteq read my mind. I really don't think that much more could be done with cable customization without a soldering iron and a Molex tool.
I was pleased with the performance of the Nesteq ECS 7001. I really didn't quite understand the dip in +12v until the PSU was under load, but it definitely wasn't an issue. The power supply dipped no farther than 11.8v with two GPUs running, so I'd have to say it is a good performer.
I found no faults or issues with the ECS 7001. Some people may complain about the labels on the working side, but other than that, I can't think of a single thing that someone wouldn't like about it.
The Nesteq ECS 7001 is for sale in the US at only a few retailers, including QuietPC. QuietPC sells only products that they test themselves for silence. Actually they don't approve that many power supplies. The ECS 7001 has obviously received their approval. I know that it was totally silent in my rig.
QuietPC asks $198.95 USD for the ECS 7001, not a bad price for a high quality 700 Watt PSU with such a unique cable system.
