Further Investigation

As you can see the MX Revolution is a very curvy, ergonomic mouse. The standard left and right mouse click buttons are present, as well as the advanced SmartShift scroll wheel that is clickable and has left / right click functions. (again, more on that in a bit). Directly behind the scroll wheel is the One-Touch Search button. The left side of the MX Revolution has two thumb buttons and another clickable wheel. The mouse has a total of four different surface materials on it. The upper deck is coated with a hard, smooth plastic. The left side where your thumb rests is a textured rubber surface which will ensure a firm grip on the mouse. The far right side has a smooth, micro-suede like feel to it, while the rest of the mouse is trimmed in shiny plastic, almost like Plexiglas.

A quick look at the underside of the MX Revolution shows four Teflon-like feet which will help the mouse glide effortlessly across nearly any surface. An On/Off switch can be found here, which would be useful should you plan on leaving your computer for an extended period of time (weekends, vacations, etc.). The two gold contacts at the bottom are used to charge the mouse using the included charging cradle. Speaking of charging, the MX Revolution gives a visual display of the remaining battery life. Here you can see the battery at full charge.

Next up we take a look at software installation and usage...
