That statement may be a little misleading, as OCZ already has several successful lines of PSUs and a huge reach in the market. Today we will be taking a look at the ModXStream 780, one of two new ModXStream power supplies released just two months ago. The ModXStream series features modular cables and is aimed at being a quiet solution for gamers and enthusiasts.
OCZ uses bright and colorful artwork on the retail package of the ModXStream. The front of the box shows a picture of the power supply, a list of features, wattage rating and the ever-popular 36-month PowerSwap warranty. The back of the box gives a bit more detail on the specifications/features and breaks down the cables included with the unit. Below is a list of the features shown on the front of the box as well as the complete specs list, borrowed from OCZ's website.
EZMod Advanced Cable Management System: Arrange your personal cable configuration in seconds and eliminate cable mazes while improving airflow.
Silent Operation: PowerWhisper technology diminishes noise to ensure silent, yet efficient operation.
Multi-GPU Ready: The durable and powerful ModXStream is equipped to fuel the demands of gaming rigs.
Active PFC: Active PFC circuitry effectively regulates input voltage to deliver superior operation in a wide range of environments and countries with varying voltages.
Superior Cooling: Supreme air flow, courtesy of an ultra-quiet yet extremely vigorous 120mm fan complete with brilliant blue LEDs.
