Procedures
All test results were taken twice and averaged at the toasty ambient temperature of 27.75 C (~82 F). The CPU was at an overclock of 367x9 at 1.300V. The case had a 120mm intake fan, a 135mm PSU exhaust fan, the CoolIT Eliminator CPU cooler, and an empty side-panel 120mm fan hole, all at high setting as applicable. Load situations were created with two instances of Folding@Home, one on each core. A blank WindowsXP Professional desktop is considered to be idle. All temperatures were let to stabilize for 15 minutes before being recorded, to ensure that they were not still rising or falling. Temperatures were recorded using RivaTuner 2.1 with the C2D.dll plugin, which measures the same temperatures as CoreTemp. All measurements were taken load first, then idle afterwards to ensure that the CPU was not still cool from boot.
Results
At idle, the two compounds performed about the same, with negligible difference. The real difference, however, comes when the processor hits load. It appears that Coollaboratory's Liquid Pro cannot handle heat transfer with greater wattage of heat being generated. Though the difference seems clear cut here, it should be kept in mind that the difference is only a few degrees in total, putting the results within lady luck's reach.
