When I think of a notebook computer, I typically envision it out and about with its owner, whether it be in a coffee shop, on an airplane, in a hotel room or at the office. Perhaps this is because I own a desktop and spend the majority of my computing time on it. But the fact of the matter is that there are many people that use their notebooks around the house to listen to music, surf the web, chat, check email and watch movies. I even know a few people who rely on a notebook as their only computer. Logitech is targeting users just like this with their newly released Speaker Lapdesk N700.

We first saw the Lapdesk N700 at the Consumer Electronics Show a few months ago and I even got to try it out. In a nutshell, the Lapdesk is a notebook accessory that provides comfort to the user, cooling to the notebook and some increased entertainment value thanks to dual integrated speakers. Today we have the Lapdesk N700 in our labs for a closer look.


The Speaker Lapdesk arrived in the retail box you see above. The front of the box has a photo of someone using the Lapdesk with their notebook while the back displays some product features. I found it a bit funny that the simulated notebook screen image had the iStockphoto.com watermark on it. I was able to find the image here. Just something I noticed that I haven't seen before on a product box. Anyway, below is a list of features borrowed from Logitech's website.
