Introduction

We have reviewed a slew of external hard drive enclosures here at OCIA.net recently. Some proved to be worth their asking price in terms of features, usability and overall quality, while others came up a bit short. The team over at Kingwin recently sent word that they would like for us to check out their latest hard drive enclosure, the Elite Series. The Elite Series 3.5" SATA enclosures, built of dual process anodized aluminum, feature a one touch back up system and are USB 2.0 and eSATA compatible. How will this combination of features stack up against the heavy competition already in the marketplace? Read along as we aim to find out!

Kingwin sent over both a red and blue version of the Elite enclosure. The two are identical except for color. Kingwin also offers a black version of the Elite. The front of the retail package is clear and shows off the enclosure inside. Around back, we find a features, specifications and package contents list. Below is a complete list of features and specifications, borrowed from Kingwin's website.
