First Look

The iXoft is available in two colors: the black / red combo we have here today and a white / gray combo, seemingly for Macs. The surface of the pad has a nylon-like "slippery" feel, with several raised channels to help dissipate heat. The iXoft name is printed in the top left corner, with the Thermaltake logo centered at the bottom.

The bottom of the pad has more of a traditional cloth feel, which should help it remain in your lap during use and not slide off. As you can see, the pad is very flexible. This is due to the HeatShift Technology used in the iXoft.

The material inside is sodium sulfate decahydrate, Na2SO4·10H2O, also known as Glauber's salt. This material changes phases (from solid to liquid) at 32 C (90 F), which makes this product excellent at storing heat and is commonly used to store thermal energy for solar heating systems.
