As far as for external storage, the Vantec NexStar Hard Drive Dock really doesn't do anything that your external enclosure can't. If you never need another drive, don't swap drives, or do any of the things I mentioned earlier, your current external drive will suit you just fine.

But, if you do swap drives, work on other people's computers, etc, the Hard Drive Dock may be just what you are looking for.

The Vantec NexStar Hard Drive dock is very simple to set up and use, and comes with everything you need to get started. It costs $40 at a popular online retailer, which is about the price of a mid-range external drive enclosure. Pretty inexpensive for such a unique item in my view.
