Introduction

Most gamers invest the majority of their hard-earned money into the latest and greatest video card(s), and rightfully so. It all begins with what you see on the monitor. Next on the gamer's checklist is a high performance keyboard and mouse. You are only as good as your weakest link, and if you can't get your thoughts and movements into the game fast and accurately, you're toast.

A lot of people call it quits here and start fragging, which is a real shame. There is another piece to the puzzle that many gamers totally overlook and skimp on: audio. A decent 2.1 system is more than enough to get you by, but if you really want to hear the game as it was intended to be heard, surround sound is a must. Surround sound totally immerses you in the game you are playing and gives you a true advantage over someone using headphones or 2.1 audio. For example, in a FPS, you can actually hear someone sneaking up behind you, which could give you a split-second jump on them and make the difference in a frag or a fatality.

Logitech introduced the G51 Surround Sound Speaker System back in August, which is aimed specifically towards gamers. The G51 System offers a ton of new and innovative features, all of which we will be taking a look at here today in detail.

The G51 System arrived in Logitech's standard green and black themed retail box. The front of the box shows a large photo of the complete speaker system, while the back of the box goes into further detail about individual features. Below is a complete list of features and specifications, borrowed from Logitech's website.

Continue ahead as we unpack the G51 and get a closer look at everything...
