The microphone comes folded up and out of the way but easily folds down. When in the up position it mutes itself and has a red light at the tip that comes on. A great thing about this microphone is how it can be positioned. It looks like a solid piece but the middle is made of durable rubber than can be bent.
Installation is very easy. Just install the application that is included and then plug in the headphones when it's done. It is a very simple interface with only a few options to change. You can adjust the volume, bass, treble, and microphone volume. The big surround sound light turns red whenever you turn it on. You cannot press this button, as the surround sound can only be activated using the switch on the headset.
On the top right a profile can be created that stores your button presets. Below that is the voice morphing function. Here you can change your voice output to sound like a number of characters such as a robot, troll, gorilla, alien, mutant, or space squirrel. Along with each of these you can change the pitch using six different settings from highest to lowest. The voice preview can be checked to allow playback through the headset with a half second delay.
