Being a "celebrity" of sorts does tend to paint a target on you, and Wendel is no different. Instead of praising him as a role model and successful entrepreneur, critics have harped that Fatal1ty branded products have steep price tags and that you are essentially paying extra for the "Fatal1ty" name. A quick check at a popular online retailer reveals that most Fatal1ty branded gear is priced according to its competition. Others tend to forget that the majority of Fatal1ty products are top quality; he doesn't just go around and endorse every product thrown at him. It is with this mindset that we present the OCZ Fatal1ty Series 700w Power Supply for review.
The 700w Fatal1ty unit arrived in the predominantly red and black retail package you see above. The front of the box shows the power supply itself and displays some features and various company / product logos. The back of the box gives us a bit more insight into the features and specifications of the power supply. Below is a list of specifications, borrowed from OCZ's website.
From the specs we see that this unit is 80+ certified and is backed by OCZ's 5 year PowerSwap warranty replacement program. Under this program, if your power supply goes bad while under warranty, you can send it in for RMA and have a replacement unit shipped out immediately, eliminating the downtime you would experience if they were to try and repair your unit first.
Also worth mentioning is the single 12v rail, in this case 56A, and the non-modular design. A non-modular single rail system is considered the most stable and logical implementation, but there are many out there that are willing to give up potential stability in exchange for the convenience that a modular system provides. Just something to keep in mind.
Continue ahead as we check out the retail package and take a closer look at the Fatal1ty branded 700w Power Supply from OCZ.
