Though I seldom use them and they often irritate my ears, I love cover-the-ear headphones. Whether gaming, listening to music, editing music, or whatever, there's something about putting on a set of headphones and shutting out the world... the wife, kids, dogs, telephone, television, everything. Put on some headphones, and I'm in my own private little world.

Today, I am reviewing the Everglide S-500 headphones. Everglide, based in San Diego, started out making durable precision mousepads in 1997. Their mousepads and enhanced gaming peripherals are recognized all over the world as some of the best. Everglide is also one of the leading brands of home and office peripherals.

The S-500 headphones come packaged in this attractive box. The window gives a glimpse of the color of the headphones; they come in white or black with silver trim.

The headphones are well protected by this fairly unique polystyrene holder.

The S-500 headphones are slightly larger than a set of studio headphones...

....and are very well padded with a leather-like material. The thick padding is to help insulate the user's ears from outside noises.

The headpad is also thickly padded.
