Introduction

Aftermarket cooling solutions for high-end video cards are few and far between. For several months, the only aftermarket VGA cooler that I could find for my 8800GTX was the Thermalright HR-03 Plus. I reviewed this cooler back in April, and while it did offer excellent performance, it sacrificed precious expansion slots to accomplish this. Fast-forward eight months to present day and we have another new VGA cooler to test with the 8800GTX, the Thermaltake DuOrb VGA Cooler.

The DuOrb arrived in the attractive retail package you see above. A cutout on the front of the rectangular box gives us a clear view of the cooler, while the backside of the package details product specifications and features. Below is a complete list of features and specifications, borrowed from Thermaltake's website.

As you can see, the all-copper DuOrb is compatible with many popular graphics cards from both nVIDIA and ATi. Will this cooler be enough to tame a toasty G80 core? Continue ahead as we aim to find out...
