Conclusions

Today, we had a look at the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 CPU cooler. The Hyper TX3 is intended to be a mainstream cooling solution and, in my opinion, it well accomplishes its task.

From a general usage perspective, the Hyper TX3 is fantastic. Installation is a breeze (as it should be) and should not require any type of motherboard removal. Also, the plastic fan clip design is convenient and sturdy. It is also a bonus that Cooler Master includes extra fan clips instead of making you buy them. Although the fan is rated at 35dBA, it does not run noticeably louder than any other cooler I have used.

On the topic of performance, the Hyper TX3 produced temperatures as expected for a mainstream solution. While the cooler was not exceptional or conducive to overclocking, it is not meant to be. There could be a little more overhead in terms of performance, but that would have been above and beyond for this product.

For around $20 online, the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 is a solid mainstream cooling solution. If you're putting together a new rig and want a cheap way to get comfortably stable temperatures, the Hyper TX3 is definitely a good option. For its value and ease of use, the TX3 earns the OCIA.net Silver Seal of Approval.
