It has been some time since I received a new mid tower case. At one point I felt a little deluged by them, seems that every week I would get another. But for the last couple of years I have mostly had full towers. I really like the ease of working on a rig in a full tower, kind of like working under the hood of an old car or pickup, there is plenty of room to move around without damaging something or knocking something loose. They are especially nice if you are running liquid cooling, have a huge tower cooler, running numerous drives, or are really particular about cable management.

Of course everything has a drawback, and so do full towers. I usually have three test rigs (LGA 1366, LGA 1156, and AM3) along with my main working rig sitting at my workstation. Four PCs together in one location take up an incredible amount of space. Put them all in full towers and it can be a little ridiculous. So much that I have broken out a couple of old mid tower cases that I had packed away. Both of these cases have seen a lot of use and really could stand replacement, so this case is right on time.

Thermaltake should need no introduction, if you have built, or have considered building a PC, you have heard of Thermaltake and their high quality cases, power supplies and coolers. I can't say how many Tt cases I have owned, but I've had both mids and full towers, an HTPC, and even a Thermaltake mATX case.

Today I will be looking at Thermaltake's latest gaming mid tower, the Armor A90. If you are familiar with Thermaltake cases, you will see that this case is a hybrid between two of their product lines, it is in the VL9000 series so it has the superior cooling qualities of the V9, but is also part of the Armor series so it has some really aggressive styling to make your rig stand out at LAN parties. And of course you can expect the ruggedness you always find in Thermaltake cases. Read on to check out the Armor A90!
