Exterior

The X-Jupiter Jr. model we received for review is the solid panel S Type in black. The front plastic bezel has a smooth glossy surface whereas the painted metal sides and top sport a rough, textured finish. This gives the case a semi-gloss appearance and helps to hide marks from fingerprints and dirt. Although the S Type does not have a side panel window it still incorporates a mesh opening and a large 250mm LED fan. The rear of the case features openings for a standard ATX power supply and 120mm exhaust fan. Stamped grill holes are large enough to reduce airflow restriction and come with mountings for a 92mm or 80mm fan as well, should you want to replace the included fan.

The lower portion of the front panel is vented and covered with a free-flowing mesh. There is also a blue LED for power and red LED for hard drive activity, along with a blue backlit LCD temperature display. A knob for the integrated fan speed controller completes the exterior controls. The top of the front panel is also covered in mesh, although completely non-functional. The Apevia name adorns the door, done in a reverse cutout window which lights up blue in keeping with the theme of the rest of the case. The full length door is held shut by two plastic clips and swings open a full 180°, revealing the five 5¼" and two 3½" bays as well as power and reset buttons. There is a quarter-inch lip at the bottom so the door does not extend all the way to the floor, which should prevent it catching on carpet or other surfaces. On the inside of the door panel is a small switch that changes the temperature display from Celsius to Fahrenheit scale. The top of the X-Jupiter Jr. houses the built-in USB, Firewire and audio ports.
