Introduction

Back in June, I reviewed the Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 video card cooler. Though entirely passive, it blew the stock cooler out of the water. People have been raving on and on about this cooler in reviews, and it seemed like it just couldn't get any better… until Arctic Cooling put out the Turbo Module, an addition to the S1 and S2 coolers.

Arctic Cooling is very specific when describing the best environment in which to house your Accelero S1 cooler—one with negative air pressure, and where the only opening is the expansion slot by the cooler so that all incoming air flows over the fins. My case did a pretty good job of that. I also noticed that, when I took off my side panel, my VGA core temperature lost about 7C in performance. This meant that, even though this passive cooler is great at cooling my ATi X1900XTX, airflow seemed to be a huge factor.

So, why not strap on some fans so that air is always flowing over the fins and I can get even better performance? Well, that's exactly what Arctic Cooling did with the Turbo Module. This nifty add-on saves you the trouble of rubber-bands and 120mm strapped-on fans, with custom sized, quiet, and light-weight clip-on fans that should do just the trick. I'm pretty optimistic about this product, because my experience has shown me that this increased airflow will probably make a huge impact on performance. So, let's not waste any time and get things started!
