I have gotten to know Sentey through their case division over the past few months. In that time I have looked at the Optimus and the Arvina mid-tower offerings. Today we have their 80 Plus Gold 850 watt power supply on hand for evaluation. This will be the first power supply I have looked at from them, so it will be interesting to see how they handle something besides a case.

The 850 watt size of this PSU and the 80 Plus Gold rating mark this squarely at the gamer or higher-end user market. Most users who need a PSU of this size will be running dual or greater graphics cards, multiple storage drives and / or a beefy CPU. Let’s take a look at the official specifications from Sentey.




The first thing I notice here is that there is a single +12V rail. Some brands have been splitting the 12v rail into a couple of different rails, but here we are back to a single one. With 70A, there is plenty of juice sitting behind that rail. Past that we see that there are a whole lot of connection options as well as a large 140mm cooling fan.


Next we will take the Sentey GSP850-SM out of the packaging and get a good look at it.
