Overclocking

The system I'm using for testing the Phenom II 965 X4 conforms to the Dragon Fusion platform, consisting of the following:

Motherboard: Biostar TA790GX A3+
Memory: OCZ Platinum 2x1Gb PC3-10700
Video: Asus HD4890 Top
Hard Drives: WD Raptor 3x74Gb RAID0
Cooling: Swiftech H2O-220
OS: Windows 7 HP 64bit

Overclocking a Black Edition processor is simple since the multiplier can be increased. Just by bumping the 17x to 20x and increasing the voltage to 1.5v we get a stable 4.0Ghz, an overclock of 600Mhz over stock. The system will boot to Windows up to 4.3Ghz and appear to be fine however under heavy load and temp it becomes unstable. Extreme cooling would result in much better stability, and many results of 5Ghz+ with dry ice and 6Ghz+ have been obtained under liquid nitrogen.

Let's run through some benchmarks.
