Wow, the 7600GT really pwned the 8600GTS here. I ran the entire test again, with similar results.

I don't think I have ever looked at Far Cry under the highest settings. The graphics still are some of the best I've seen, and with these two cards I saw several things I never really noticed, such as the amazing detail of the reflections of cliffs and bluffs on the water. I will say this, and I feel that if it is true, and not my imagination, it means more than the mere FPS. The graphics looked amazingly better with the 8600GTS than they did with the 7600GT. This was the case with both rounds of testing. Actually, that may be the difference I was seeing rather than merely running the game at the highest settings. Unfortunately, you can't show that stuff on a review. I'd give up some FPS for prettier graphics any day.
